Building History

Ignite Family Academy was initially located in the Bower Learning Center (BLC) at 4111 6th Ave NE in Lacey. The building was constructed in 1971 and originally housed the North Thurston High School library, which was salvaged from the campus after it was fully demolished in 1983. The building is named after Frank Bower, the first principal of North Thurston High School. The BLC served as a community meeting space and office until 2021, when it was remodeled into a school environment for the launch of Ignite Family Academy.

In 2025, Ignite relocated to the Raj Manhas Activity Center on 200 Sleater-Kinney Rd NE.
